Energy Conservation in Old Brick Houses

Goodwille, Nicholas Stephen and Lundkvist, Anna (2010)
Civil Engineering - Architecture (BSc)
Abstract
The goal of this thesis is to find a contribution to the problem of implementing additional insulation without disrupting the internal and external appearances of the building that need to be kept. With this we intend to find out which methods would be most prudent as well as finding out what effects these changes could have on the energy efficiency and the internal climate of a house. To attain these results, a study will be performed on four houses of the same material in both England and Sweden. In addition a study will be performed on a house which has already recently been thoroughly renovated. This will give a plausible comparison with which the results can be compared.
