Abstract
The demand for sex education targeting immigrants is a debated issue in Sweden. Generally sex education targeting immigrants has been carried out through Swedish for immigrants (SFI), since it is an educational institution which reaches a lot of newly arrived adults in Sweden.
In this essay I examine two pieces of sex education material which have been used in SFI. The main purpose is to scrutinize how sexuality, gender and ethnicity are being conceptualized in the material and how they inter-sect. The analysis is carried out by using critical discourse analysis (CDA) and examines the hegemonic discourses and ideologies surrounding the con-struction of sexuality in the material.
