- Studies have shown that there are rapid changes in the business environment in which organizations and companies are operating. The environment forces them to cope with these changes in order to maintain and gain competitive advantage. As a result some organizations or companies opt for Business Process Management Systems (BPMS). - Studies have shown that there are rapid changes in the business environment in which organizations and companies are operating. The environment forces them to cope with these changes in order to maintain and gain competitive advantage. As a result some organizations or companies opt for Business Process Management Systems (BPMS). BPMS are systems that help organizations to improve their performance and make them capable for organizational change and continuous management of business processes. Apart from the system benefits, organizations are complaining that it has its own problems. Thus, this thesis work is interested to find out the impacts of business process management systems in the business processes as well as in the organization at large. For a detailed data collection the authors used qualitative research method and did interviews with three different companies. The research findings indicate that in spite of the business activities of organizations there are some common impacts of the BPMS. The business process management system is giving wide opportunities such as flexibility, integration and speeding up of business processes. But, the system is also challenging in some aspects. (Less)
