Abstract
This thesis is about the swedish suppliers to the car industry. During the last 20 years the car industry have changed dramatically because of globalisation and product fragmentation. It has created new markets, brands and productions systems. This paper discuss what the swedish suppliers have to change to be able to survive in a different and more demanding car industry. By comparing OECD´s numbers in export and import in swedish car industry and interviewing experienced suppliers the results and direction for swedish suppliers is to focus on the production step that is advanced and need knowledge which Sweden have access to.
