- Abstract
- Throughout the Turkish Republic’s history and today, women’s bodies and sexualities are sites of control and regulation by family, society and the state. My focus in this study will be the regulation and control applied by the state and its institutions from the perspectives of feminists in Turkey. By applying feminist critical discourse analysis of the feminist journal, Amargi, I will analyze how feminists problematize and challenge the official discourses and practices of the state that tries to regulate women’s bodies and sexualities.
