- Abstract
- Events such as a storm that hit Sweden in 2005 and caused considerable damage led to a number of new additions in the Swedish Electricity Act. Some of these additions were demands on power distribution companies on a risk and vulnerability analysis and an action plan concerning the reliability of delivery in distribution networks, and also on keeping its customers informed about this. The aim of this master thesis is to investigate how a simulation method based on network theory can be used to perform risk and vulnerability analyses in accordance with these demands. In the analysis two simulation programmes, NetCalc and ACC, were used. With NetCalc, the network is put into strain by removing components one by one in a random or specific... (More)

In the analysis two simulation programmes, NetCalc and ACC, were used. With NetCalc, the network is put into strain by removing components one by one in a random or specific order. With ACC, a more detailed analysis of certain risk scenarios is done by analysing all scenarios with one or two simultaneously removed components. The analysis resulted in a set of suggestions on how the methods can be used on electrical distribution networks in accordance with the law. It also showed that the methods were especially useful for electrical distribution networks due to the clear structure and relative stativity of these networks. (Less)
