Abstract
This essay deals with the limits of leisure time and its possible consequences in employment, which might follow according to existing regulation. This essay especially focuses on employees’ comments and statements done in leisure time, made online on the Internet and having no direct connection with the employer or the business. Is there any risk that the freedom of speech protected by the constitution does collide with the duty of loyalty according to the employment agreement?
The Internet does play an important role in people’s life today, and it can have consequences which might not have been clear and obvious at the beginning. This essay describes the problem at issue and seeks answers in court practice, recommendations from the... (More)

The Internet does play an important role in people’s life today, and it can have consequences which might not have been clear and obvious at the beginning. This essay describes the problem at issue and seeks answers in court practice, recommendations from the Parliamentary Ombudsman, and from the Office of the Chancellor of Justice. This is done in order to analyse and finally be able to give a proper answer to what the legal situation is for statements and comments done in leisure time online in contrast to the employment.
