Abstract
This report describes experiments with a method for measuring water density in the spray from a water mist sprinkler using laser diodes. The decrease in light intensity at a photo cell across the spray from the diode is used to calculate the water density. The same method has
previously been used for measuring the soot content of a flame, but the calculations when measuring water density are in some ways different. The report has two goals; one is to evaluate the method to see if it is adequate for measurements of this type, the other is to produce values of water density that can be used to evaluate CFD (Computational Fluid
Dynamics) models. The conclusion stated in this report is that although the measurements carried out for this... (More)

Dynamics) models. The conclusion stated in this report is that although the measurements carried out for this report are not very accurate, they are accurate enough for evaluating CFD models. A number of ways to make more exact measurements are also proposed. The report is
written in Swedish. (Less)
