Abstract
The aim of this paper is to explore the psychosocial work environment at IKEA Trading Services AB in purpose to develop an equal opportunities plan. The paper deals with theories regarding psychosocial work environment, motivation, work satisfaction, demands and control, leadership, social support, sexual harassment and work-life-balance. The psychosocial work environment was measured with Copenhagen psychosocial questionnaire (COPSOQ), the equality between genders with a questionnaire developed by the Swedish law department and the balance between work-life with the work-life balance questionnaire. 76 participated in the survey. The aim of this paper is to explore the psychosocial work environment at IKEA Trading Services AB in purpose to develop an equal opportunities plan. A weak correlation effect was found between work satisfaction and work-life balance. A tendency to correlation effect was also found between dimension nine on the equality questionnaire and work-life balance. There is no significant difference found between women and men at IKEA Trading Services AB when it comes to how they feel about their work environment. The results were discussed in relation with current mentioned theories. (Less)
