We have chosen to study the purchase process since it’s significance has increased the last couple of years. We feel that it’s mainly within this process a company can make decisions which will lead to advantages towards their competitors. According to us, knowledge about the purchase process is an important factor to how a company can increase their efficiency and thereby receive a better profitability.
The purpose with our rapport is to study, survey and improve the existing purchase process at NOTE Lund. The objective is to provide NOTE Lund with information which can contribute to the discovery of problem within the purchase process. To make this possible, we have chosen to study which persons who are involved in the process, how the process runs today and what it’s based on.
The study is primarily based on the theories from van Weeles and the eightstepmethod, provided by Anders Ljungberg, and personal interviews with people who are involved in the company purchases. In the rapport we study and survey the divisions in NOTE Lund which is involved in the purchase process.
We have, during the implement of the study, discovered that NOTE Lund today has a functional purchase process with competent personnel in the purchase division. Still the process has improvement potential and the entire torrent has efficiency potential.
Our suggestions for improvements are:
Decrease the number of suppliers by taking bigger part in the definition of specifications
Maximise the use of strategic and meaningful suppliers
Make changes of the personnel within the purchase division
New routines concerning the valuation process.
Make a legible documentation of the exiting and possible changed routines.
The implementation of these measurements should lead to an efficiency of the purchase process and facilitate for the personnel in the purchase division. (Less)
