Abstract
This paper is a documentation of the storm and the inundation that hit the Murcia-Alicante regions, southeast Spain, in November 1987. It is also a description of the Murcia region from a geographical point of view. Special attention has been payed to the severe erosion i the area and the relations between vegetation cover, climate and erosion in this moisture stressed Mediterranean environment.
