under tolv månader undersöktes.

under tolv månader undersöktes.
(Less) - Abstract
- During the tunnel boring project through Hallandsås in the northwestern part of Skåne, large-scale
weathering zones have been encountered and there have periodically been problems with great amounts of water
leaking into the tunnels. This water comes from the above and surrounding aquifers and the drainage is registered
as sinking groundwater levels in control wells on the ridge. In an attempt to create a picture of the aquifer’s extension
in the area above the tunnel boring machine, ten control wells adjacent to the South Border Zone, one of the
weathering zones, were studied. The change in groundwater levels were studied for about twelve months. Also the
geology in the area was studied to add another variable to the investigation.... (More) - During the tunnel boring project through Hallandsås in the northwestern part of Skåne, large-scale

in the area above the tunnel boring machine, ten control wells adjacent to the South Border Zone, one of the
weathering zones, were studied. The change in groundwater levels were studied for about twelve months. Also the
geology in the area was studied to add another variable to the investigation. The main rock types in the area are
gneiss, amphibolites and dolerite with varying crack frequency and degree of weathering. After these investigations,
five aquifers have been identified. In some cases the aquifers are limited by the limitations of different rock
types, for example a dolerite in the south part of the area definitely represents a boundary, as does a bigger amphibolite
body. Because the geology outside the tunnel has not been investigated is it hard to determine whether this is
the case with all the aquifer boundaries or if some of them maybe are limited by weathering zones. The aquifers
seem partly connected but the relations between them are complex and more control wells would have been necessary
to get a full picture of the interaction and relations between them. (Less)
