En dendrokronologisk undersökning har gjorts på 128 tallar (Pinus sylvestris) från två torvmossar:
Viss mosse och Åbuamossen i Skåne, södra Sverige. De delar av torvmossars lagerföljd som innehåller
stubbar och stammar bildar stubbhorisonter. En stubbhorisont i en lagerföljd representerar en torrare fas i mossens
historia, oftast som ett resultat av hydrologiska variationer orsakade av klimat förändringar. Proverna från de båda
lokalerna har analyserats med hjälp av dendrokronologisk mätmetodik. Resultatet blev ett flertal flytande kronologier,
där den längsta täcker 570 år. De tre kronologier som ansågs vara mest betydelsefulla 14C-daterades för att

En dendrokronologisk undersökning har gjorts på 128 tallar (Pinus sylvestris) från två torvmossar:
Viss mosse och Åbuamossen i Skåne, södra Sverige. De delar av torvmossars lagerföljd som innehåller
stubbar och stammar bildar stubbhorisonter. En stubbhorisont i en lagerföljd representerar en torrare fas i mossens
historia, oftast som ett resultat av hydrologiska variationer orsakade av klimat förändringar. Proverna från de båda
lokalerna har analyserats med hjälp av dendrokronologisk mätmetodik. Resultatet blev ett flertal flytande kronologier,
där den längsta täcker 570 år. De tre kronologier som ansågs vara mest betydelsefulla 14C-daterades för att
bilda daterade kronologier. Kronologier är dendrokronologiskt värdefulla då de representerar tidsavsnitt som är
brisfälligt undersökta i Sydsverige. Totalt togs 18 14C-prover varav 15 kommer att användas för kalibrering av 14Ckuvan
och 9 använts för datering av kronologierna. Dateringarna har korrelerats med olika kalibreringsprogram för
att ge kronologierna så exakta åldrar som möjligt. Borrkärnor togs från Viss mosse. Analyser av torvens humifieringsgrad
ger information om variationer av mossens fuktighet. Etableringen av tallbestånden på Viss mosse sammanfaller
enligt torvanalysen med en relativt varm och torr period. Etableringsfasen på Viss mosse inleddes omkring
7250 cal. BP och det fanns olika tallbestånd på mossen fram till 6300 cal. BP. Utifrån de platser enskilda prov
från Viss mosse vuxit på har studier av tallbeståndens tillväxtdynamik och förflyttningar orsakade av klimatrelaterade
vattenståndsförändringar möjliggjorts. Materialet från Åbuamossen visar att det fanns ett tallbestånd där 3700-
3200 cal. BP. Åldern på de torra perioder då mossarna var bevuxna med tallskog sammanfaller med kända perioder
då vattennivån varit låg i Sydsvenska sjöar. (Less)

Skåne, southern Sweden were examined with dendrochronological methodology. The result is a number of floating
chronologies, of which the longest cover 570 years. The three most valuable chronologies were 14C-dated to construct
dated chronologies. These chronologies are of certain dendrochronological interest as they represent poorly
investigated time periods in southern Sweden. The pine material is from horizons of stumps in Sphagnum peat. A
horizon of stumps in a stratigraphy represents a relatively dry period in the bog history. The reasons are often hydrological

and movements of the pine settlements. The material from Åbuamossen shows that pine settlements occurred between
3700 and 3200 cal. BP. The ages of the drier periods with pine settlements on both peat bogs correlate with
