- Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to perform an inventory of what kind of waste products the landfill Blentarp contains, as well as risk classifying the landfill. The inventory and risk classification is performed in accordance with the MIFO-method, developed by the Swedish EPA. The landfill Blentarp was in use during 1970-1979 and was registered as a landfill for domestic waste. By studying maps and archives, as well as performing interviews and

in separate risk classes. The first phase is based on studies of maps, archives and interviews.
During the first phase the risk classification of the landfill Blentarp is presumed as risk class 2. The second phase is based on the first phase and further investigations such as conducting own fieldwork, for instance drilling for layer sequences in the landfill, measuring difference in altitude over the landfill and analysing a sample of leached water from the landfill. The result of the analysis from the leach water sample shows high levels of lead, cobalt and PCB. The total risk classification during the second phase is presumed as risk class 2. The suggestions for decreasing negative effects from the landfill have its focus on further
investigations. (Less)
