- In Sweden today, the participation in children’s activities of the Church of Sweden is increasing, also in relation to the size of the age groups. The number of members in the Church of Sweden is decreasing, as well as participation in baptism and confirmation. Considering these facts the main question of this studie is: Why choose children’s activities arranged by the Church of Sweden today? With a case study, using observations, interviews and a survey in a small parish on the country-side in the northeastern Skåne, several reasons for participation are found. The smaller size of the activity group gives the children more room for individual attention and development. The activities in the parish are based on creativity which is another important reason for the participants, as well as the Christian aspect. (Less)
