Abstract
The purpose with this study was to explore if role expectance, social interaction and demographic data could predict whether a person derives from extrinsic or intrinsic motivation. Another aim was to see if these factors could prove of any unique difference to whether postmen derive of extrinsic or intrinsic motivation. A survey was sent to 120 mailmen on 10 different offices and the response was 80%, where 28 of them where women and 68 men. The survey contained the following variables, role expectancy, social interaction, demographic data, and questions about intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. The result showed that role expectance, social interaction, and demographic facts did not correlate with extrinsic or intrinsic motivation.
