They constantly have to be at the forefront by applying new technologies and constantly strive to streamline their operations for the firm to remain profitable in the future. With this background Jacob Lindh has chosen to explore the possibility to use a new design tool, a program called Tekla Structures, which is also used by their suppliers. The aim for this report is therefore to develop a basis for Jacob Lindh for future decisions on the transition working with Tekla Structures instead of their current 2D-program. Method: To find out more about the program and its ability to facilitate Jacob Lindh's operations, other users of the program were interviewed. In addition, an already finished project has been remade, this time by using Tekla Structures, with the aim to explore the program's potential and possible efficiency gains. Result: The result indicates that Tekla Structures could bring significant efficiency gains for Jacob Lindh. However, this will require major efforts by the company when the program is knowledge-intensive and require high technical skills of their users. (Less)
