The integration of ICT in educational institutions and their curricula have been stressed as important in preparing students for the requirements of the new information society. In this paper, we will shed light on what constitutes an efficient integration of ICT in education, by analyzing various examples of successful ICT integration in the Scandinavian countries. We argue that diversification and advancement of students’ skills are important aspects in educational innovation, suggesting that these could have positive effects on national competitiveness in the information society and knowledge economy. We suggest that the integration of ICT in Scandinavia could be enhanced through the linking of human resources, interactive collaboration and networking.
