Abstract
In this master thesis a process in Delmia was created for digital test assembly. Delmia is a computer program for simulations, at Scania Delmia is used for simulating truck assembly. The process created was made to be easily reused in future tests. The base of the process came from the best practice document for manufacturing at Scania. To do this a study of the systems at Scania was made to get an understanding the primacies of the solution. Today digital tests are not possible to reuse because they are stored locally and because of this the parts are not updated from the Enovia database. By making a process in a template that can easily be copied in to a project the process can be used in many different projects. The parts in the template were linked to the process in the template was the same as the process of building a truck on manufacturing line. When new parts were exported to the project the same linking made the parts linked in to the right part of the process. This makes it possible to not have to link and organize the parts manually as much in the future. By saving the projects in the PPR-hub the parts could be updated every night.
A big problem with using this solution it that a lot of parts geometry needs to be loaded which takes up a lot of time for the people working with the projects. One solution for this is to open the process in the step that the test is to be done in and to get all the parts up till then through using load with manufacturing context. (Less)
