The purpose of this paper is to use information from the theory of CSR, to decide whether H&M's way of working with socially responsible reach the current standard, and if the work is being meaningful.

Various methods have been used to analyze H&M's responsibility. Comparative method was used to compare the company's responsibility formulation with the CSR theory. To elaborate on the content of the primary material, a content analysis mixed with an idea- and ideology-analysis was used. H&M largely live up to the expectations expressed by CSR theory, although a continious discussion is important to be held in order to have a sustainable situation regarding social responsibility.
