What part does identity development has, and is it possible to understand this youth phenomenon based on the idea that there is a transitional period in life?
The aim of this essay was to increase our knowledge of the phenomenon of organized football hooliganism and interpret how a hooligan experience thoose parts of his life that includes hooliganism.
The study was based on a qualitative content analysis of an autobiography as well as a literature and document review. To be able to interpret and analyze the autobiography, we choose to use the theory of symbolic interactionism and Erving Goffman's dramaturgical perspective. These theoretical points gave us an opportunity to analyze the autobiography from a new perspective.
The main outcome we reached in our analysis was that the main factor, for the choice of this lifestyle, is based on the unity that is to be found in this firm. Violent practice is not, as we first saw it, the primary reason for the members of Firman Boys. (Less)
