The purpose of this paper was to examine which perception some young adults with a Roma background in Sweden have about the minority law from 2010. Our questions were; which knowledge does young Roma adults have about the minority law and what opportunities or possible obstacle do they see with the new law. The results we got from our interviews were analyzed with help of the postcolonial theory, Max Webers power theory and Erving Goffmans theory about stigma. The main results of this study was that the young Roma people were positive to the new law concerning the Swedish minority groups but had serious doubts whether the law would have any success. What was surprising with our study was not all of the respondents had knowledge about the minority law existence. The results of this study has given an insight in how young adults with a Roma background in Sweden thinks about the new minority law from 2010, but a generalization is not possible from the result because it is only based on six person interview answers.
