- Abstract
- In 2006 the Swedish parliament, riksdagen, decided upon guidelines to increase the committees work with science. I have made a mapping to see how this work is carried through in practice and how it has developed over time. It’s evident that the committees work much more with science today and riks-dagen is now a forum for science questions, which was not the case before 2006. Nevertheless the committees work in different ways and with different intensity depending mostly on the interest of the MPs and civil servants. I have also looked at the reasons to this development. It seems to depend on interplay between the knowledge society of today and some actors who have been pushing this question forward. This change was also a way to strengthen the position and influence of the parliament towards the government. (Less)
