The results of the analysis are then used to uncover the ideological changes within the Swedish labor movement. The conclusion of the analysis is that there have been four ideological periods in the Swedish Social Democratic Party. During these periods the concept of economic democracy has shifted from being a mean to achieve joint ownership of all the means of production, with the objective to create a classless society, to the contemporary meaning of being a mean to maintain a certain level of welfare.
