- This paper describes how four teachers from the same school translate democracy from the curriculum. The interviews describes how the teachers work with the curriculum and what kind of difficulties they confront in the meeting with the students and other teachers. Through qualitative interviews of these teachers, have allowed us to read into their reflections as they explain their reality of the matter. In different ways the teachers feel restrained from mediating their democratic values. Due to lack of time, undefined objectives and guidelines, complex assignments and insufficient interaction with other teachers make them struggle with what thet believe is the right thing to do.
