Unlike many other orphanages, a significant matter of this orphanage is that 80 % of its orphans are in touch with their biological parents.
The main results of the study shows that the staff members endeavor to provide every child in their care with incentives and conditions for optimal growth and development. They estimate the physiological needs as the most prepotent of all needs. Due to the trauma of separating from their biological parents, the children are more emotionally instable compared to children living with their parents. Therefore the needs of support, comfort and affection are estimated as important. Also the needs of safety and consistency are supplied by the staff members at the orphanage. (Less)
