- Abstract
- The company that this project takes place at has most of its production
facility in Halmstad. A little more than a year ago this plant was exposed
to a fire that destroyed the facility completely. The company is now
planning to build a new plant on the same spot as the old was situated.
Purpose The purpose of this project is to analyse the company´s material flow
and based on the result make decisions concerning what handling
equipment to use, the sizes of the buildings.
Problem The problem to be solved in this project is to find a layout for inventories
and production appropriate for the company investigated. That includes
for example dimensioning the inventories to keep the targeted service
