- Abstract (Swedish)
- Twenty seven participants, students with self-reported stress problems, were recruited through email to different university institutions and were randomly assigned to two different groups, experimental (n=13) or in the form of a waiting list control (n=14). The experimental group was subjected an Internet-based stress treatment program. A pre and post-measurement was conducted regarding perceived stress, burn-out, depression, and anxiety as well as mindfulness skills. During the post measurement the participants also reported their weekly ratio of exercises in mindfulness. The participants that were exposed to the intervention had significantly decreased their estimates regarding burn-out. The study also showed a significant result that... (More)

The participants that were exposed to the intervention had significantly decreased their estimates regarding burn-out. The study also showed a significant result that training in mindfulness correlates positively with mindfulness skills. The study showed no significant results on the other measures although a tendency of decreased estimates of anxiety and depression could be observed. The study contributes to research on Internet-based treatment and psychological stress-interventions but stresses the need for further research considering active components in the treatment of stress as well as internet-based treatments.
