Abstract
The purpose of this Bachelor thesis has been to create an aid for the students at the Department of Geology at Lund’s University. The resource is supposed to be usable without assistance from a teacher. This since the number of students has increased markedly over the last few years while the economic means of the department have decreased. This has reduced the teachers abilities to give all the students the help that is necessary for them in order to reach the course objectives. Polls and course evaluations that has been studied has shown that the students would like some kind of fun and stress-free group activity where they can get help with practising terminology, context and image interpretation. Literature studies in teaching practice show that the students need a strong inner motivation to increase the will to learn. When the student is feeling that what they are supposed to learn is interesting and fun their motivation can be promoted. Since a board game is fun and because it can cover both questions of text and figures in a simple way the study aid resulted in that. The board game can in addition be used easy without the help from a teacher. When creating the questions for the game, course literature and lecture notes have been studied. This literature study has given the author (me) a greater interest for the subject Sedimentology and has lead to an increased knowledge on the subject. (Less)

Kandidatarbetets syfte har varit att ta fram ett hjälpmedel för studenter på sedimentologikursen vid Geologiska institutionen på Lunds universitet. Hjälpmedlet är tänkt att kunna användas utan lärares hjälp då ett ökat studentantal och försämrad ekonomi på institutionen begränsar lärarnas möjlighet att kunna ge alla studenter den hjälp de behöver för att nå kursmålen. Enkätundersökningar och kursvärderingar som studerats har visat att studenterna vill ha någon form av rolig och stressfri gruppaktivitet och att de vill ha hjälp att förstå termer, sammanhang och bildtolkning. Eftersom många upplever att sällskapsspel är stimulerande och på ett enkelt sätt kan täcka in både bildfrågor och textfrågor så resulterade hjälpmedlet i denna form. Spelet kan dessutom användas enkelt utan lärares hjälp. För att framställa frågor till spelet har kurslitteratur och föreläsningsanteckningar studerats. Denna litteraturstudie har ökat författarens (mitt) intresse för ämnet sedimentologi ytterligare och lett till en ökat kunskap inom ämnet. (Less)
