- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to investigate what preconditions Kurdish families in Sweden have to solve childcare and how they do it. This was done by using qualitative, semi-structured interviews with six Kurdish mothers of young children and theoretical foundations that links childcare, welfare conditions and transnational migration. The study shows that migration causes a vulnerability which makes migrants attempting to secure their welfare and to overcome their vulnerability in relation to childcare by involving local and transnational networks into their strategies to solve childcare.
