Konstruktörens BIM-roll i små till medelstora projekt

Programmes in Helesingborg
Abstract
During the last years, the development within the building industry has focused more and more on BIM, Building Information Modelling. The trade has under a long time been criticised for its lack of effectiveness and quality where BIM has seemed as the solution by many people. The standardisation of the work process hasn’t yet been done within Sweden which by now has led to us being far behind the leading countries in the particular field. In later years the work process has been going towards a more common structure with standards, demands and guidelines and we stand to be introduced to a future within the building industry with new possibilities and problems. A so called moment 22 is common to occur, where the consultant doesn’t know exactly what the client wants and at the same time the client doesn’t know exactly what he could have delivered. This bachelor thesis aims to investigate if the actors in the building industry are fully satisfied with the BIM delivered by the construction designer within small to medium sized projects. In larger and more advanced projects the projection nowadays is often made entirely in BIM, while in smaller projects not so often. The study was completed through three interviews and two observations that make the foundation for the presented results. From the study it was made clear that the lack of structured client demands, inexperience and lack of knowledge plays a big part in this problem. A number of suggestions and ideas on what information and level that is of interest and would develop the construction designers BIM-delivery is presented in the result of the thesis. Keywords: Construction designer, BIM, Computer modelling, building process, projection. (Less)
