Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

Abstract
This study examines how five different organizations work proactively in the preventing crises phase. Proactivity is a concept that represents a knowledge gap in the research on crisis communication. The purpose of this study is to extract deeper knowledge on how proactivity is defined and interpreted in relation to the prevention of crisis management phase. The study is based on a qualitative method in which five in-depth interviews with communications and media managers have been made. The study’s results show that proactive crisis management involves rapid action by the organization when a situation arises. Despite the study’s results there is need for further studies investigating the proactivity in a greater extent than has been done... (More)
