The aim of this study is to, based on Fairclough's critical discourse analysis, analyze constructions of transsexualism, sex reassignment and sterilizations in Swedish media in forms of editorials in newspapers. This study's theoretical framework and the methodology employed in this study is Fairclough's critical discourse analysis, using Fairclough's three-dimensional conception of discourse, supplemented by queer theory.
