The purpose of this study was to investigate how the staff of the social services adult unit and clinics for maintenance treatment looks at the cooperation and division of responsibilities between the two organizations. In order to fulfill our purpose and answer our questions, we conducted a total of six interviews with staff from the two organizations. We then analyzed the empirical data with help of organizational theories such as the symbolic perspective and institutional logics. Our study shows that there are opportunities for improvement in the cooperation and division of responsibilities as our respondents expressed some criticism for how they experience the situation today. Negative criticism such as lack of knowledge, lack of trust and ambiguity regarding the division of responsibilities was exemplified, but also positive criticism including SIP meetings and the desire to improve the client's well-being were highlighted.
