The study is based on four interviews with general practitioners from three different health centers throughout Sweden. The interview material is analyzed by using a knowledge-oriented and action-oriented analysis. The results of the study show that doctors have both experience and knowledge of the patient’s medical condition. According to the analysis the patient group can easily be identified when they seek medical care. Physician's views on the differences and similarities between men and women who suffer from burnout are similar to the general truth that society gives to manhood and womanhood. (Less)
