With help from the theory a world emerges where Isis-followers expresses a elitist definition of the self, a Manichean division of the world betweet good and evil and an essentialistic view of violence. The ideological discourse is messianic and obscure.
Since the Isis have existed for only a short period of time, the organization is an understudied object. Moreover, the existing fields of science often lacks a theoretical backbone. With this essay my hope is twofold: A contrubution of theory to the field of Isis and terrorism studies and an analysis of social media to the social movement studies. (Less)
