- Den här studien syftar till att undersöka hur begreppet hållbarhet konstrueras i Stockholmshems projekt Hållbara Hökarängen. Projektet handlar om Stockholmsförorten Hökarängens utveckling mot en mer socialt, ekologiskt och ekonomiskt hållbar stadsdel. Studien utgår från ett sändarperspektiv och analysen guidas av Foucaults diskursanalytiska perspektiv där vi identifierar de styrtekniker som ligger till grund för projektets genomförande. Styrteknikerna kan liknas vid PR-tekniker eller kommunikativa grepp. Empirin utgörs av intervjuer och skriftliga utsagor som i enlighet med diskursanalytisk princip tillsammans likställs vid den vidare benämningen text. Projektet handlar om Stockholmsförorten Hökarängens utveckling mot en mer socialt, ekologiskt och ekonomiskt hållbar stadsdel. Studien utgår från ett sändarperspektiv och analysen guidas av Foucaults diskursanalytiska perspektiv där vi identifierar de styrtekniker som ligger till grund för projektets genomförande. Genom en kvalitativ tematisering har vi identifierat hur Hållbara Hökarängen legitimerar sin problemformulering samt vilka normer, ideal och värden projektet lyfter som eftersträvansvärda. Tematiseringen har även legat till grund för valet av lämpliga teorier som i analysen för en dialog med empirin. Analysen lyfter tre huvudteman och deras komponenter som tillsammans konstruerar en diskurs om hållbarhet i Hållbara Hökarängen. Resultaten visar att projektet kommunicerar en hållbar livsstil som innefattar särskilda förutsättningar, aktiviteter och människor. Vidare visar studien på relevansen av att problematisera diskursiva styrtekniker då de skapar handlingsfält för individen som i sin tur fungerar både inneslutande och uteslutande. Då ett kritiskt maktperspektiv sällan appliceras på studier inom strategisk kommunikation synliggör analys och resultat det inflytande som makthavande institutioner har i samhället och därigenom hur de påverkar människors tankar och handlingar. - This study intends to increase the understanding of how the term sustainability takes form in the project Hållbara Hökarängen initiated by Stockholmshem. The project concerns the Stockholm suburb Hökarängen and it’s development towards social, ecologic and economic sustainability. The study is performed with a transmitter perspective and the analysis is guided by Foucault’s method for dis-course analysis. The discourse analysis helps to identify steering techniques that constitute a base for the projects implementation. The steering techniques can resemble PR-techniques or communication strategies. The empirics is composed by interviews and written material that in accordance with the discourse analysis are altogether equalized and treated... (More)

Thru a qualitative schematisation we have identified how Hållbara Hökarängen legitimize their problematization and which norms, values and ideals the project highlights as desirable. The qualitative schematisation has also directed our theoretical choices. The analysis enhances three main themes, and multiple elements within them, that together compose a sustainability discourse. The results reveal that the project is communicating a sustainable lifestyle, which contains specific presumptions, activities and people. Furthermore the study underlines the importance of scrutinizing discourse steering techniques as they create fields of action that both exclude and include people and their deeds. As there is a lack of a critical perspective within strategic communication studies, our study illuminate the influence that powerful institutions have in today’s society and therefor also how they affect people’s thoughts and actions.
