Abstract
Out-town-shopping leads to an increase in greenhouse gases. The increase in greenhouse gases is generated by the added transportation of fossile fules run vehicles to the location of the shopping malls. The aim of this study is to analyse how employees’ travels to the out-of-town work place, the shopping mall Nova 1, in Lund. The analyse is made to find out whether it is possible to increase the share of sustainable journeys to Nova 1, by locating a bike-share-system station to the area. To see what other studies shows in the area climate impact connected to out-of-town shopping and bike share systems, a literature review was conducted. A survey was prefermed to identify and evaluate the employees travel habits and attitudes toward the bike-share-system. The results from the survey show that the majority of the employees use car and public transportation as their main way of transportation today. However, according to the survey, the results also show that there is a potential to replace travels by car and public transportation with a bike share system. This result indicates that there is a potential to increasing the portion of more sustainable travels by locating a bike-share-station to Nova Lund’s area. (Less)

(More)

(Less)
