The theoretical framework of the analysis was based on the theory attachment and concepts as attachment, attachment behavior, attachment system, internal working models and a secure base which I used to explain the magnitude of violence and the influence on the child having to experience violence were it is supposed to be safe. As a conclusion; when children face danger they activate a range of behavior to obtain the mothers attention in hope to approach her and maintain a sense of security and protection. When violence occupies the family’s way of life the mother is no longer available and the child needs to develop new ways to reach the mother and achieve security and protection which is vital for the child’s survival.
