Abstract
Prevention is the best and the most cost-effective way to stop crime and violence, it should therefore be a priority for society. The city of Malmö has recently started a crime preventive project in Almgården, which is a part of the city. The result were analysed by Max Weber's theory of ideal types. The result that I found was that the city of Malmö's work is in accordance with what scientific research recommends and that there is a potential to implement the project in Almgården. Though due to the way that they gather information about Almgården, it is going to be hard to evaluate if the city of Malmö's actions are effective. The people involved in the project were also, in general, positive towards the project. (Less)
