- Prevention is the best and the most cost-effective way to stop crime and violence, it should therefore be a priority for society. The city of Malmö has recently started a crime preventive project in Almgården, which is a part of the city. The purpose of this thesis is to examine if the city of Malmö is working effectively with the project according to how scientific research says that a crime preventive project should be done, and what the people involved in the project thinks about it. The way I gathered my material was that I conducted one unstructured interview and four semi-structured interviews with people working with the project. I also did a participant observation. Though due to the way that they gather information about Almgården, it is going to be hard to evaluate if the city of Malmö's actions are effective.
