- Abstract
- This report is a design project about preventing fires in the home. The purpose was to try to invent a new product with a new take on trying to reduce the amount of fires in our homes. The method used is a traditional design methodology starting with a brief leading to a research phase, understanding and investigating phase then visualization and realization, ending up in a solution. The questions asked where if there was a need on the market for a new type of extinguisher, if a new technology could be implemented and who the product was for. A new technology in fire suppression agents was investigated and implemented by method known as adaptive innovation to develop a product using an already existing technology and making it more... A new technology in fire suppression agents was investigated and implemented by method known as adaptive innovation to develop a product using an already existing technology and making it more attractive to the consumer market
The report shows, among other conclusions that there is a need for better and more intuitive solutions for preventing fires in the home environment.
The use of the product Aero X is perceived to contribute to a lowering of the amount of fires due to accessibility and efficiency. (Less)
