Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine what kind of discourses about gender that could be found in verdicts concerning compulsory drugtreatment. We conducted a content analysis of 27 verdicts and chose 18 of them as we thought that they represented our empiricism. The verdicts came from a administrative court of appeal in one of Swedens largest cities. The main findings of the study was that the discription of men were more based on their physical health and the description of women concerned their mental health. Women are presented as they ”risk” vulnerability and men are described as they already suffer from vulnerability.
