Abstract (Swedish)
A strong brand requires that the whole
company reflects one picture. If one part is
not well thought out, this can destroy the
picture. Elekta is a human care company
whose solutions and services expresses
trustworthy and caring. The aim of the project
was to create packaging strategy that
reflects the company’s profile, to implement
a new packaging design.

To achieve this, an analysis of the company
was done, who they are and what they
stand for, what goals and visions they have,
and who their customers are. Evaluation of
existing packaging was done to define the

problem and an understanding of the packaging
requirements was obtained. Methods
used were interviews, semi-constructed interviews,
pre studies and field trips.

To not focus on the shipment packaging or
the labels, demarcations were set.
Tools used during the ideation phase were
sketches, sketch models, illustrations and
prototypes. A number of evaluation occasions
with Elekta were made during the
process, to decide which way to go. Smurfit
Kappa, packaging manufacturer company
gave guidance so the result could be applicable.

The result is two different types of packagings;
equipment packaging and the packaging
for the disposable products. The equiptment packaging has a layout that can beapplied to all Elektas packagings. It is easy
to distinguish from other existing packages
and simplifies the identification of the
package’s content. The packaging with the
disposable products will be exposed to customers
of Elekta on a daily basis, because
it will be used as a storage container at the
hospital. It is easy to take a blister out of
the packaging and you can see when the
packaging is half full.

With Elekta’s graphic elements in mind an
uniformity was created, to strengthen the
brand. (Less)
