- Abstract
- The aim of this study was to investigate the third-phase process, exploring participant’s perceptions and experiences as part of the research. The third-phase process is a labor market policy for those who’ve been unemployed for four hundred and fifty (450) days or more. The selection process was based on five participants between the ages of thirty- two (32) and fifty- three (53) years old, two men and three women. The methodological approach was qualitative methods, a semi-structured interview was used in other to give participant’s a wide approach of flexibility through interviews. Goffman’s theory of stigma and Foucault’s power perspectives are various theoretical framework explored.

The empirical material for the study was transcriptions of the interview from participants, which was later, reviewed and processed with the use of theories mentioned above. Previous studies made by different scholars were discussed on the research. The conclusion describes the experience and livelihood of participants, as well as their mental and physical being. The focus was on how the study affects lives of participants on the third phase process. A specific consideration was on the stressful and problematic nature of their ways of life. In summary, it sums up to their readiness as participants in changing their current situations, with the confidence of securing employment and preventing stigma in exchange of living a more meaningful life.
