Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
Abstract
This thesis is a case study of a couple therapy in the context of the Childrens Healthcare. The therapy was mainly influenced by Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy, with some interventions from Circle of Security and Compassion Focused Therapy. The purpose was to try out a treatment for a not so common but recurring type of case; parents who express suffering because their problematic couple relation is having a negative impact on the children. Research shows that the couple relation has a big impact on the small childs mental health. Yet there is no formal tradition to treat this problem in the Childrens Healthcare. The result of the study was a description of a therapeutic process where the family system was influenced by the treatment,... (More)

The result of the study was a description of a therapeutic process where the family system was influenced by the treatment, in that co-parenting was supported when the couple relation was experienced as safer. This also influenced the parent-child relation. The parents could express their attachment needs, communicate and understand each other better. The thesis arguments that the couple relation and the co-parenting relation should be percieved as partly overlapping in families with small children. The thesis hopes to contribute to deeper knowledge about working with couple therapy with the childs needs in focus. (Less)
