Abstract
In every kind of industry there is a wish to use the resources available in the best way possible. If this can be achieved, both time and money can be saved and profit will be maximized. The problem is to know in which way this can be done. When is a resource used in an optimal way? This question was in focus when Novozymes Biopharma AB was about to expand their batch production. In order to contribute with general guidlines and to measure the capacity of the new facility, this thesis evaluates a scheduling method based upon Dijkstra's algorithm and it tests two comercial scheduling software packages.
