The second part aims to isolate the dominant traits in the description to see how well signs of masculinity can be found in the empirical substance. To achieve a correct operationalization a descriptive idea analytical method has been applied in combination with R.W Connells, Butlers and Hirdmans theoretical views on masculinity.
The two dimensions that make up the analytical tools are a power dimension and a character dimension. The empirical evidence used in the paper to achieve a good description has been collated from governmental investigations, interviews and newspaper articles. Main conclusions that have been drawn from the study consists of that typical traits of masculinity from both dimensions have been found to dominate in the empirical substance. (Less)
