- In this study we aim to provide a deeper understanding of the thoughts on interaction and the collaborative work that school counselor’s facing with social services, healthcare, the school faculty and staff. The study is conducted through eight qualitative interviews with school counselors from different schools throughout the city of Malmö. We gathered the empirical material and categorized it in several themes using four theories: Organization theory, interaction theory, professional theory and discretion. There was also lack of clarity with the confidentiality between the school counselor, the social services, BUP, parents and students. Although the confidentiality could be broken only if asked for, the school counselors still felt that the confidentiality was a hindrance. The school counselors also was united in wanting what they called a fast track, to provide the counselors with a direct contact with a handler when contacting social services or BUP. (Less)
