Abstract
The experience of thinking and language in the psychotic state of mind was examined using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. The result was discussed in terms of psychodynamic theories, including Freud’s notion of decathexis, the ”skin-ego” of Anzieu, and Hanna Segal’s theory of symbolic equation. Heidegger’s hermeneutic phenomenology functioned as theoretical basis for this single-case study. An emerging main theme was the split of the psychotic world of experience into two diametrically opposite states of mind, which respectively, affected the use of language. Themes related to the psychotic language were ”the language of creation” which was built upon the idea of language as the creator of reality, and ”the demand for truth”... (More)

The various forms of language were related to changes in symbolization, and to the mental structures of the psychotic state of mind. (Less)
Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
