Abstract (Swedish)
(Less)
Abstract
The development of temporary agencys on the labormarket has been increasing over the past years, despite of this the research and knowledge about temporary workers has not increased in the same pace. The psychosocial environment has changed the past decades with the emergence of alternative empolyments. The importance of the physical and the psychosocial work environment has been emphasized for the workers health and well- being. Psychological well-being in a work context implies that employees are healthy and experience their jobs as meaningful. The aim of the study was to explore if temporary workers psychological well-being has a connection to high demands, low control and job insecurity. An online-survey was replied by 82 employees... Psychological well-being in a work context implies that employees are healthy and experience their jobs as meaningful. The aim of the study was to explore if temporary workers psychological well-being has a connection to high demands, low control and job insecurity. An online-survey was replied by 82 employees from three temporary agencies in Sweden. The results were analysed using multiple regression that showed that a subscale of control, decision latitude, was the only psychosocial factor that had a significant positive relation to psychological well-being. The other psychosocial factors did not show significant results. The study also controlled for demografic data, psychological well-being had a significant positive relation to if the employee has a permanent contract. The result of the study broadens the knowledge regarding temporary workers psychosocial environment and its effect on psychological well-being. (Less)
